He consistently underlines the responsibility and function of films in the terms of culture and art. From the first display of his Beijing Bicycle in Berlin, to Shanghai Dreams，In Love We Trust，Chongqing Blues，wo11 and so forth displayed in Berlin, Cannes, Venice and some other international film festivals，he got a tremendous amount of prizes. His new film Red Amnesia has been selected in the general competition unit of the 71st Venice, making him be the first one of sixth generations of directors selected into the general competition unit of the top three film festivals.
